Confetti Filled Cupcakes are a pinata cupcake with a hidden surprise inside every cupcake. Perfect for a birthday part or celebration.
My daughter's birthday was last month. We made two kinds of cupcakes to celebrate. There were lemon cupcakes and these Chocolate Confetti Cupcakes!
On the outside these cupcakes look like an ordinary cupcake, but take a bite and you discover a pocket full of confetti sprinkles! You should have heard the giggles of delight from my niece as she discovered the surprise inside!
Any cupcake recipe or flavor would work for this treat. I used our favorite, chocolate mayonnaise cupcakes. These pumpkin spice cupcakes or lemon cupcakes would work too. Once your cupcakes are baked and cooled, you cut a little plug out of the center. Then fill the hole with confetti sprinkles and frost. That's it!!! Super easy!
To make it even simpler, you could purchase cupcakes without frosting from your local bakery and then fill and frost yourself.
Just imagine the fun you could have at your next party!
How to add a filling to a cupcake
- Cut a small piece from the top center part of the cupcake
- Remove cut piece and discard or enjoy for a snack
- Fill cupcake with filling
- Frost cupcake as normal covering hole and filling
What type of fillings can I add to a cupcake?
- lemon curd
- raspberry jam
- strawberry jam
- confetti sprinkles
- frosting
- mini marshmallows
- mini chocolate chips
- mini chocolate covered candies

Now that sounds like my kind of party! I remember those lemon cupcakes from a couple of weeks ago, and I've been craving lemon dessert ever since then! But you had these confetti cupcakes there, too? What a fun idea! I'm thinking I need to make these for Robbie once he gets a bit older. Thanks for sharing, Kathy! And I hope you have a great week, my friend!
