The inspiration for this recipe comes from my favorite store bought hummus. I decided to see if I could replicate it at home. I think I’ve nailed it!

Homemade hummus with roasted red bell peppers

Servings: 12 people
Calories: 81 kcal

Ingredients
  • 1 15 oz can garbanzo beans rinsed and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 16 oz jar roasted red bell peppers use half of jar
  • 1-2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Place garbanzo beans, garlic and tahini in a food processor.
  2. Pulse until combined.
  3. Remove half the peppers from the jar, drain and dab dry with a paper towel.
  4. Process until smooth.
  5. Add 1-2 olive oil until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Don’t know if you have a Wegmans grocery store near you but they make a red pepper hummus very much like this. The problem. Super pricey!!!! I’ll have to try your spin.

    Oh man, I love a good hummus! Roasted red pepper is one of my favorite flavors, too. In fact, one of my favorite lunches is just a slice of whole grain bread (especially one of those kinds with all of the seeds/grains in it) topped with roasted red pepper hummus. Can’t wait to try this one soon! 🙂

    I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten at least a scoop (if not more!) of hummus every day this summer – you can never go wrong with it. Roasted red pepper is a favorite of mine, and this looks delicious! You definitely nailed it!
