A perfect holiday appetizer of baked goat cheese topped with almonds and a drizzle of honey.
This appetizer is super duper easy, yet it tastes like you've put a lot of effort into making it. You just can't go wrong with an appetizer like that!
What type of goat cheese do I use?
I used Chevre goat cheese in this recipes. Chevre is a soft, fresh cheese made from goat's milk. Most Chevre is mild tasting and very soft and spreadable.
You could also use other types of cheese in this recipe. You could try cream cheese, marscapone and a smooth, rich ricotta cheese. These alternatives, might not come in a log shape, but you could simply fill a baking dish with a cheese and then top with almonds and honey and then bake.
How do I make baked goat cheese?
- Roll goat cheese in sliced almonds. Press almonds firmly into cheese so they stick.
- Place goat cheese in a lightly greased baking dish.
- Drizzle honey over cheese.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes
- Serve warm with crackers and fresh fruit.
Tips when making Baked Goat Cheese
- Use the same baking dish for serving this cheese. Once the cheese is heated, it's too soft to transfer to another serving dish.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Store any leftover cheese in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

I love goat cheese!! I haven't had it in so long, though, and I'm not sure why. I'm thinking I need to make this dish for the holidays. Pour a nice glass of red wine. Pull out the crackers, honey and goat cheese. I'll be a happy camper for sure. Yum!!
