A bowl filled with a creamy dip with artichokes.

This spinach artichoke dip is rich, creamy, and full of flavor thanks to marinated artichokes and plenty of cheese. Everything is added right to the crockpot, making it an easy option for gatherings, game day, or anytime you need a warm appetizer without a lot of hands-on work.

Using frozen spinach keeps things simple, and the slow cooker does all the work. Just stir, heat, and serve.

Spinach Artichoke Dip in a bowl.

Slow cooker artichoke dip

When you're entertaining, it's always a good thing to have a few dishes that are as easy as can be. This spinach artichoke dip is one of the dishes. Everything is made right in the crockpot, which makes it simple and hands-off.

Just add your ingredients, give it a stir, and let it slowly heat until everything is melted and gooey.

This dip can be served straight out of the crockpot or dish it up into a serving bowl. I think it's just as delicious piping hot as it is warm.

Key ingredients

Ingredients for making an artichoke dip.
  • Marinated Artichoke Hearts - You can also use plain artichoke hearts. I like the extra flavoring that comes from the marinated ones.
  • Frozen Spinach - Allow the spinach to thaw and the squeeze out any excess liquid.
  • Cream Cheese - Make certain the cream cheese is at room temperature.
  • Sour Cream - Adds a delicious tanginess to the dip.
  • Mayonnaise - Helps add creaminess to the dip.
  • Parmesan Cheese - Use shredded Parmesan, not dried grated cheese that's shelf-stable.

Recipe tips

  • Drain the liquid from the artichokes. Give the artichokes a rough chop. This helps make certain everything is bite-sized.
  • Make certain to thaw and squeeze the spinach dry before adding to the crockpot.
  • Heat on a low setting. This helps ensure that the cheese melts slowly and helps prevent it from breaking or becoming oily.
