Homemade pizza ready in just 20 minutes!

Naan bread pizza
Pizza night has always been a hit in my house. Sometimes we'd make homemade dough, but when time was tight, flatbread pizzas saved the day!
I always set out a variety of toppings, and everyone assembles their own. There's nothing better than building your own pizza and making it exactly how you like it!
Naan bread makes the perfect shortcut crust. I usually find it in the deli section at the grocery store. Since it's already baked, your pizzas cook up fast with crispy edges and melty cheese.
With this easy-to-make recipe, pizza night can be a hit in your house, too! Try it with whatever toppings you have on hand. It's a great way to use up leftovers.
Ingredients for pizzas
- Pizza Crust - Any flatbread works for these pizzas. Buy Naan at the store or make your own grilled flatbread. You can also use precooked pizza crusts, such as Boboli.
- Sauce - Use spaghetti sauce, marinara sauce, pizza sauce, or pesto for a different flavor!
- Cheese - Shredded mozzarella is a pizza classic, but feel free to mix things up by using shredded cheddar, pepper Jack, or your favorite cheese. I also use Parmesan cheese sprinkled over the top.
- Toppings - Pick your favorites! Some ideas include pepperoni, sliced salami, mushrooms, olives, Canadian bacon, pineapple, sundried tomatoes, and sliced bell peppers.
Making a flatbread pizza
- Spread sauce on flatbread.
- Sprinkle cheese on top of the sauce.
- Add your favorite toppings.
- Bake in a preheated 425°F oven until the pizzas are hot and bubbly and heated through. About 12-15 minutes.
Recipe tips
- Preheat your oven - Make certain your oven is fully heated to 425°F before adding your pizzas.
- Don't overload the toppings - While it's fun to add your favorites, adding too many toppings can cause the pizza to take too long to cook.
- Shred your own cheese - Many preshredded cheeses have additives that may prevent the cheese from melting.
- Wait to slice - Let the pizza rest for a few minutes when it comes out of the oven before slicing.
Storing and reheating pizzas
Store any leftover flatbread pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. To reheat, place the pizza in a preheated 375°F oven for 5-7 minutes or until warmed through and the crust is crispy.
Pizza can also be reheated in the microwave. However, the crust tends to become soft.
Frequently asked questions
Freshly baked pizza is best. To save time, you can prepare all of the toppings ahead of time and store them covered in the refrigerator until you're ready to assemble.
