Fresh grilled pineapple is an amazing grilled treat. You only need a fresh pineapple and a grill.

There are some sure signs grilling season is here. First, there's the sun and the warm temperatures. Then there's the obsession with seeking out items to grill and finally, there are entire meals being made right on the grill.

Earlier I made Lemon Rosemary Grilled Chicken, Pineapple Salsa and now this delicious pineapple! Grilled pineapple made with fresh pineapple is so simple and is perfect with any grilled meat or even eaten as a dessert.

Slabs of grilled pineapple on a plate.

My first experience with fresh grilled pineapple was at a Brazilian Grill. We had this amazing array of meats that the wait staff brought around on huge skewers and would slice off a piece right onto your plate.

Then came the grilled pineapple! Can you say AMAZING? The kids and I decide we needed to replicate this at home. After a couple of tries, we finally came up with perfection!

A pineapple with half the peel cut off.

Begin by cutting off both ends of the pineapple. Then cut off the outer skin.

Slice into large slabs, leaving the core intact.

Pineapple slices on the grill.

Place on a hot, clean grill. Cook for just a few minutes on each side and serve! That's it! Simple and Delicious.

I LOVE grilled pineapple. I like to mix a little melted butter with orange marmalade and brush my pineapple with it while grilling. Yo could also use honey and butter. Raw pineapple can sometimes cause my tongue to feel a little "raw". Grilling it somehow keeps that from happening. I like the method you use to cut it.

I just made pineapple guacamole and I have half a pineapple left over, and since I hardly EVER have random pineapple in the house I would say this is a sign!! Grill, here I come!

I love grilling pineapple...thanks for the yummy reminder, Kathy! And I totally second your comment about Brazilian grills. I love those places. Here's to a long and warm Spring (although it's definitely snowing here right now...)

Love how you cooked this in slabs Kathy, and then cut it up. Keeps it juicy. What a treat, we'll have to try this very soon, though there are several inches of snow on the grill cover, I am sorry to report. It snowed last night. Sigh.

Cooking it in slabs also makes it much easier to manage on the grill! Hang in there...that snow is bound to melt quickly!
