Whip up a batch of this delicious salad dressing in just 10 minutes!

Why make this dressing
I've been making salad dressings again and I just love how they turn out. My latest is Cilantro Lime Dressing. Making your own dressing isn't difficult, and you can adjust the ingredients to your liking.
In the past I've also made blue cheese dressing and an oriental dressing that goes great with a chicken salad.
The base for this salad dressing is plain greek yogurt rather than sour cream or mayonnaise. The greek yogurt has great consistency and adds just a touch of tang to the recipe.
Key ingredients
- Greek yogurt
- Fresh cilantro
- Fresh squeezed lime juice
- Jalapeno
- Olive oil
Steps to make dressing
- Place all ingredients, except cilantro in a food processor. Process until smooth
- Add cilantro and pulse 5-6 times until mixed in, but still can see bits of leaves
- Pour into a glass storage container and serve or refrigerate until needed
Recipe tips
- If your yogurt is runny you can use it as is, or you can strain off any excess liquid from your yogurt.
- I've used a half of a seeded jalapeno. If you like it spicier, add the whole jalapeno. Use less if you'd like it milder
- Use fresh squeezed lime juice
- Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks
- A small amount of sugar is added to help balance the flavors. The sugar may be omitted if desired.
This salad dressing would be great served on a salad alongside Quinoa Enchiladas or Pan Fried Walleye.

I've never had a dressing like this before. It sounds fantastic! I love that it uses yogurt. I often have yogurt around in the fridge, and this would be a great way to use it up.

We've been watching the calories around here lately, and salad dressings can be deceivingly high in that category. Homemade is the way to go for sure! I love the flavors you've got going on here, Kathy. This will taste like summer! I definitely need to put a batch of this dressing on the menu soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
