Homemade blue cheese salad dressing with chunks of blue cheese. Delicious and easy to make, this dressing is perfect for adding to green salads or using as a dip for freshly cut veggies or buffalo wings.

Blue Cheese Salad dressing is one of my favorites. I'll be totally honest, I don't always make my own salad dressing. I tend to keep an assortment of different dressings in my fridge. It's really a matter of convenience - and providing everyone's favorite dressing.

Making salad dressing isn't hard. I am making an effort to make dressing more often and buy less prepared dressing. This blue cheese dressing is perfect with this Cobb Salad or a wedge salad!

A few months ago we attended a local fundraiser auction for a youth sports team. My mom bid on a wheel of locally made blue cheese. We were so excited when she won the bid!

A large block of blue cheese.

I don't think any of us really realized how much cheese is in a 6-pound wheel of cheese. That's a whole lot of blue cheese especially since when using blue cheese, a little goes a long way.

Wheel of blue cheese with a small wedge cut out of the wheel.

We sliced up the wheel, packaged it in smaller 4-ounce portions and vacuum sealed each portion into freezer-safe bags. We quickly discovered that my siblings and their families either love blue cheese or hate it. I love it! More for me!!!

Those of us who love it took several packages home with us. I put one package in the fridge and froze the rest. When I need more blue cheese, I'll just pull a package out of the freezer, let it thaw, and then use it.
