Homemade Teriyaki Sauce…simple and delicious

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce pouring from a bottle

I have always used store bought teriyaki sauce.  Never thought anything about it until we ran out.  I decided to make it ourselves and wouldn’t you know it….super easy and super delicious!

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

This teriyaki sauce can become really salty tasting.  Here are my tips to avoid that over salty taste:  Use a low sodium soy sauce and don’t boil the mixture.  Just bring to a simmer and then remove from heat.  If it’s too salty, add 1/4 cup additional water and taste.

I don’t know how long it keeps! The first batch we used right up. The second batch has been in the fridge for one week and is still good.
