Peanut butter and chocolate
Peanut butter and chocolate are a classic combination. And you just can't go wrong with a classic!
These Peanut Butter Blossoms are easy-to-make peanut butter cookies that get a Hershey's kiss added to the cookie when they come out of the oven. Instant flavor and instant decoration!
Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies were created in 1957 during the Pillsbury Bake Off. They've been a favorite cookie ever since.
These cookies are part of my 10 Days of Christmas Cookies series where I'm creating a new Christmas cookie recipe every day!
Key ingredients
- Peanut Butter - Use creamy peanut butter, something like a Jif or Skippy. Don't use natural peanut butter in this recipe.
- Sugars - These cookies use both granulated sugar and brown sugar
- Butter - I use regular, salted butter. Your butter needs to be softened so it can be easily be mixed in with the sugars.
- Chocolate Kisses - This recipe was tested with the original Hershey's Chocolate Kisses with milk chocolate.
Step by step directions
- Cream butter with both sugars with a mixer
- Add peanut butter, egg and vanilla
- Mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt
Quick Tip
No need to dirty another bowl! I add my flour, baking soda, powder and salt directly to the mixing bowl. To mix things up a bit, I use my measuring spoon and give a quick stir of the dry ingredients.
- Use a small cookie scoop to form a one-inch ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes
- As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, place a chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Just push the kiss right into the cookie, pushing it down just slightly.
- Cool cookies on a baking rack
Recipe tips
- Use a cookie scoop to get evenly sized cookies
- Bake cookies on parchment paper lined cookie sheets or an ungreased cookie sheet
- Place the chocolate kiss in the center of the cookie as soon as the cookies come out of the oven. Push the chocolate kiss down into the cookie.
- Once the kisses are placed, don't touch the kiss again until the cookie is fully cool. The chocolate will be heated from the cookie and it will hold its shape unless you touch the chocolate. Then it will droop and form a pool of chocolate!
- Store fully cool cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days

Made these today and they are to die for! Love peanut butter cookies in general and these baked up amazing. One feedback - I did the 1x recipe and ended up with 26 cookies. I unwrapped 42 chocolates so I’m going to make another batch tomorrow! Not sure if I missed something or if there was an error there! Thanks for your wonderful recipes and Instagram posts 🙂

There is a reason why these are a classic Christmas cookie! I love the peanut butter twist here. Sometimes we'll use mini Reese cups instead of Hershey kisses. I literally can't stop eating them - haha.

A peanut butter cup instead of the chocolate kiss would be a great idea!
