Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
2 cups flour,
1 Tablespoon baking powder,
1 teaspoon sugar,
½ teaspoon salt
Add butter and incorporate into flour mixture using a pastry blender or your fingers. Mixture should be crumbly looking.
5 Tablespoons butter
Mix in ham and cheddar cheese.

1 cup cheddar cheese
In a separate bowl, combine sour cream and milk together. Add to flour mixture. Stir just until combined. The mixture should be sticky.

⅔ cup milk
Use an ice cream scoop or a large spoon and place mounds of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden and baked through.
Cool on a baking rack.
Notes
Variations
Omit ham if desired
Substitute ham for finely chopped salami or pepperoni
Use your favorite type of cheese - pepper jack, colby, gouda
Add finely chopped green onions
Sprinkle a bit of shredded parmesan cheese on the top of each biscuit before baking
Biscuit baking tips
Use cold butter
Stir dough just until mixed
Handle dough as little as possible - overworking can cause the biscuits to become tough
Make certain oven is fully preheated
Store cooled biscuits in the refrigerator
