  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 12 oz beer
  1. In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

  2. Stir in cheddar cheese.

  3. Add 1 beer and stir until all dry ingredients are incorporated. The mixture will be thick.

  4. Pour mixture out onto counter and gently fold over once or twice so all ingredients are mixed in.

  5. Shape into a loaf.

  6. Place loaf in a grease bread pan.

  7. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50 minutes.

  8. Allow bread to cool at least 10 minutes before removing from pan.

  9. Bread can be sliced while still warm.

Recipe Notes

Any type of beer works well in this recipe. A stronger flavored beer will create a stronger flavored bread. I've used both  a light pilsner or an IPA with great results.
