Ingredients

butter
softened

brown sugar

vanilla

old fashioned oats

chocolate chips

chopped walnuts

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°
Place butter in mixing bowl and beat for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy
1 cup butter
Add brown sugar and beat for 2-3 minutes
1 ½ cups brown sugar
Beat in eggs and vanilla
2 eggs,
2 teaspoons vanilla
Add oats, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix until combine. Mixture will be thick.
3 cups old fashioned oats,
1 cup flour,
1 teaspoon baking soda,
½ teaspoon salt
Gently stir in chocolate chips and walnuts
1 ½ cups chocolate chips,
½ cup chopped walnuts
Place dough in a lightly greased 9 x 13" pan
Bake in preheated 350° oven for 25-30 minutes
Allow bars to cool before slicing and serving
Notes
Use butter that is softened to room temperature
Fully whip butter and brown sugar together. It will become light and fluffy.
Use old fashioned rolled oats for a hearty texture
This is a stiff dough. Use a sturdy spatula, a strong spoon or your hands to level the dough.
Make certain oven is fully preheated before baking
Allow bars to cool before slicing
