Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt together in a bowl
1 ¼ cups flour,
½ cup sugar,
2 teaspoons baking powder,
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg,
¼ teaspoon salt
In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, oil, and vanilla together
⅔ cup milk,
1 egg,
2 tablespoons oil,
1 teaspoon vanilla
Add wet ingredients into the flour mixture and stir just until combined
Add sprinkles and stir to incorporate
⅓ cup sprinkles
Spoon batter into a greased donut pan
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 10-12 minutes
Allow donuts to cool in pan for 1-2 minutes then remove and place on a baking rack
When donuts are cooled apply glaze - mix powdered sugar, milk and vanilla together in a bowl and stir until smooth
1 cup powdered sugar,
2-3 tablespoons milk,
½ teaspoon vanilla
Dip each donut into the glaze and then sprinkle colored sprinkles over the top
2 tablespoons sprinkles
Allow donuts to set up for a few minutes until glaze has slightly hardened
Notes
Make certain oven is fully preheated to 350°
Lightly grease donut pan with a nonstick spray
Use a spoon to place batter into pans. Do not overfill pans
The bottom of the donuts become the top of the donuts. The round side of the pan forms a nice shape to the donuts and that should become the top.
Place baking rack over a cookie sheet before applying glaze and additional sprinkles. This helps make cleanup a breeze.
