Store taco seasoning in an airtight container
Notes
To use
2-3 tablespoons of this spice mixture is used in place of one packet - or use 2-3 tablespoons for every pound of ground beef or chicken. The amount varies on how strong you like your meat seasoned.
Brown your ground meat first, drain off any grease then add the taco seasoning along with ¼ cup of water. Mix well and cook until the water has evaporated.
Use in any recipe calling for taco seasoning
Recipe tips
Use fresh jars of dried herbs and spices. Spices and herbs lose their potency after a while so for the most flavor, use newly opened jars or packages.

If you like a bit of sweetness, you can add a teaspoon of sugar to the mixture
Add red chili flakes if you like a bit more heat or reduce chili powder if you'd like a bit milder
